“My goal for the section is educate the bar on how to identify civil rights violations and potential causes of actions. We all know that there’s a potential claim when a driver runs a red light, a doctor operates on the wrong limb, or a loose dog bites a pedestrian. But what about when a jailer refuses to provide medical attention to a prisoner? Or a police officer puts you in danger? The viability of a civil rights claim is often less clear than the traditional case. My goal is to help the Detroit Bar clear the fog around civil rights cases.” —Jonathan R. Marko
