In accepting an appointment to serve on the Judicial Candidate Evaluation Committee (JCEC) of the Detroit Bar Association, I agree to the following terms:

I will not participate in the rating of a candidate who is a relative of mine within the third degree of relationship to either myself or my spouse, or in the rating of candidates who are in the same judicial race as a relative of mine within the third degree of relationship to either myself or my spouse.
I will make known to the JCEC Chair or the Chair of any interview panel on which I sit, any relationship with a candidate that would potentially cause an appearance of impropriety prior to any deliberations regarding that candidate.
I will not lend my name for the use of a judicial candidate in his or her campaign.
I will not contribute more than $499 to the campaign of a judicial candidate seeking election for a court in Wayne County or for the Michigan Court of Appeals or for the State Supreme Court.
I will attend the general sessions of the JCEC, on dates to be determined.
If appointed to an interview panel, I will attend the panel meetings at which candidates are interviewed and rated.
If I am not currently a member of the Detroit Bar Association (DBA), I understand I must join the DBA upon acceptance of this appointment.
I will maintain complete confidentiality of all deliberations of the JCEC.
