The Barrister Section of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association welcomed the 2007 class of Summer Associates and Law Clerks to the Wayne County legal community, during their 19th Annual Summer Breeze and Law Clerk Party.  Over 100 summer associates and law clerks attended the event and exchanged ideas with their peers, members of the bar and judicial community.  Those in attendance recognized the event to be a value added occasion to enhance the experience of all Summer Associates and Law Clerk.

During the evenings program out going Barrister President, Benjamin W. Jeffers, Dykema announced DMBA Barrister Board Director, Eric Mathis with Butzel Long as this years' Barrister of the Year.  Mr. Mathis received this honor in recognition of his demonstrated leadership in managing this year's School Partnership Program. Jordon Bolton with Clark Hill was also recognized for his tenure in serving as a DMBA Barrister Board Director.  The 2007-2008 Barrister Board of Director's Executive Committee was installed.

Before the conclusion of the event Barrister's held a raffle to raise fund for the Fort Street Presbyterian Church Meals Program. The program provide meals for 400+ Detroiters every Thursday.  The proceeds from the event will help underwrite meals for one day. Attendees who participated in the raffle received one (1) of ten (10) cheese and wine picnic canvas bags that display the DMBA logo and a set of tickets to a Tigers baseball game.  The DMBA Barrister's Section Golf Fore Kids Chair Said Taleb with Plunkett Cooney presented The Salvation Army Denby Center with the proceed check from this year's Golf Fore Kids event held in June totalling $9,500.
