Twice a year, the DMBA joins with the Third Judicial Circuit Court to host new attorney "mass admission" ceremonies following the announcement of bar exam results. These Ceremonies are open to all newly-admitted attorneys, regardless of residence; there is no charge for participation.
By participating in a mass admission ceremony, new attorneys will take their oath in front of several members of the bench. Additionally, there is no requirement that a new attorney identify someone to make a personal motion for admission on their behalf. While personal motions are certainly welcome, a member of the DMBA Barristers Section Board of Directors will make a group motion for all attorneys in attendance.

All new attorneys who plan to take the Oath at this Ceremony must click here to register in advance.
Prior to the Ceremony, you must also register with the Wayne County Clerk's Office. To register, take the original letter you received from the Board of Law Examiners, along with a $25 filing fee (cash or money order) to the Clerk's office (located in Room 201 of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center). This registration must be done in person, and must be completed prior to the Admission Ceremony.
Following the Admission Ceremony, your Order of Admission will be processed and submitted to the State Bar of Michigan on your behalf.
Guests are welcome to attend the Admission Ceremony. There is no need for guests to register in advance or check in at the Ceremony. Guests may bring cameras, but should be prepared to tell the security screeners that they are attending the Mass Admission Ceremony for new attorneys.
